Description: The Pitohui is a very bright colored bird. It is red and black. It is also called the Rubbish bird.

Habitat: Pitohuis live in the mid mountain area in New Guinea from 600 to 1700 meters; locally common near sea level at some northern sites.

Diet: The Pitohui’s diet is insects and mice.

# Of Young: The Pitohui can have up to two babies at once. They take care of the babies by feeding them and guarding them from hawks and snakes. They defend themselves by flying away from them.

Enemies: The Pitohui’s enemies are hawks and snakes. They fly away from the danger.

Weird and Wild Facts: The Pitohui has the same kind of poison as the Poison Arrow Frog.
