Description: The backside of the Taipans tail is dark brown or reddish brown. It has individual scales. During the winter the taipans scales are glossy black during the summer their skin is dark brown.

Habitat: The Taipan lives in rat burrows. It usually eats the animals who were living there before. The burrow is in deep soil, cracks and sinkholes.

Diet: This snake feeds on small to medium size mammals. This snake likes the House Mouse.

# Of Young: The female lays 9 to 12 eggs at a time. The female lays 66 eggs every year.



Enemies: Their enemies are humans.


Weird and Wild Facts: The taipan is a very shy animal. The taipan won’t run away if you get close to the snake quietly. If you get too close to it, it will bite you once or take a few quick bites.
