Description: It is heavy built and can weigh up to 4 pounds. It has warty skin and is 4-9 inches long. It has a flat body with light stripes that blend in with its surroundings.
Habitat: They usually stay on dry land but can be found in manmade ponds, gardens, drainpipes and many other places. They live in the Northern Territory of Australia.
Diet: Cane toads will eat almost anything such as lizards, mice, insects and even younger cane toads
# Of Young: A female cane toad can produce up to 30,000 eggs a month. The eggs are laid in strands and hatch within 3 days.
Enemies: Cane Toads produce poison that is highly toxic to most animals. Dogs, cats and reptiles die within hours of being bitten by a cane toad.
Weird and wild Facts: They steal food from dog & cat bowls. The call of the male cane toad is a high-pitched brrrr, which sounds like a telephone dial tone.
