The world’s most powerful television was put on top of the building in December 1,1950. The fastest climb record was in 1993 at ten minutes and 18 seconds. Since 1976 the top of the building has been lit in different colors to honor many different occasions. The building was finished on May 1, 1931. It was the world’s tallest building since 1972.
