“Hello!” We are going to tell you about our research extracurricular activities. There are remarkable benefits for all the students especially at-risk students to participate in extra-curricular activities. The involvement in extracurricular activities may help at risk students depending on the activity. These activities are linked to decreasing rates of early school dropouts in both boys and girls. The researchers strongly believe that involvement in extracurricular activities may support the at-risk students by maintaining, enhancing, and strengthening the students to school connection.
Studies show that students that are included in athletic teams are less
likely to drop out of school. Most students have to get good grades to stay on
that team. Extracurricular participation is not bad to student performance and
that participation in these types of activities prompts academic success. All
the cited research suggests that extracurricular activities provide all students
including at risk students an academic boost. Consequences of denying students
the right to participate in order to get them to work harder in the classroom
doesn’t work.
It is important to allow students the opportunity to help student find an
extracurricular activity that helps the student find something that may help
them find something that they enjoy and like doing. It is so important that
districts realize the benefits of students’ participation extracurricular
activities. Instead of cutting these programs, they need to add more money in
these programs giving every student the opportunity to participate.
