The Air Force Protects

The Air Force protects with a lot of advanced planes, but the biggest, stongest one of them all is the Fighting Falcon.

The Fighting Falcon, an electric jet, was the winner of the NATO fighter design competition in the early 70`s and entered military service in the mid 70`s. The majorty of F-16`s are two-seaters set up as bombers with a weapons officer in the back seat. Computerized flight controls are another hallmark of the F-16. The flight controls are told what to do by the pilot using a small, controller stick. This has earned the F-16 its nickname "Electric Jet." The pilots say it`s a killer jet and hard to handle. But once they get used to it, it's a  "Mean Flyin Machine.Other jets may have more impressive long-range weapons systems and radars, but nothing flying can do any better in a close-in knife fight.          F-16s carry video-gun cameras that record every moment of every aerial engagement.
