History of The U.S Marine Corps

The U.S. marine corps was born on November 10, 1775, just 7 months after the American Revolution. The second Continental Congress, at the meeting in Philadelphia they all voted to have 2 parts of the marines, with a total of about 1,000 men. Those who wanted to join had to have past experience in sailing, or in the marine life/be familiar with the water and sailing. The very first 100 recruits were all volunteers, they arrived in Philadelphia in 1775.
