Doug Engelbart invents and patents the first computer mouse. The
American Standard Code for Information Interchange is developed to
standardize data exchange among computers. 1967-
IBM creates the first floppy disk. 1968-
Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore co-found Intel Corp., which will be known
for the microprocessor. 1969-
The U.S. Department of Defense sets up the ARPAnet, a network able to
withstand partial destruction from bombs or other disasters and still
function. |
