Jared

Jared is a student at Chesapeake Bay Academy. He loves to dive with his father and take underwater photographs. I sat down with Jared and asked him some question about his hobby. After this interview you can check out some of his pictures.

Rudy: About how long have you been diving?

Jared: For about three and a half years now.

Rudy: What is the most unusual photograph you have ever taken?

Jared: You know those little signs with the directions and the mail box beside it. I had my father pose infront of it shrugging confused on which way he should go.

Rudy: What kind of camera do you use to take underwater pictures?

Jared: Nikkon

Rudy: Is it hard to take underwater photographs?

Jared: Sometimes it is because the light is much different. If the picture is taken wrong you will end up with streaks across the picture depending on the light.

Rudy: What kind of lights are requried to take underwater pictures?

Jared: You add one or more flash attachments to your camera of various sizes.

Rudy: When taking a picture with a flash on the camera does the light scare the fish?

Jared: Not really they don't know what hit them.

Rudy: Are underwater cameras expensive?

Jared: Yes they are very expensive. The one I am looking at is about $1,300 but a base price on a basic one comes to about $500.

Rudy: Can a camera be ruined by depth?

Jared: Yes a camera can be crushed but usualy people don't dive that deep. The most I have broken was a couple of bulbs.

Rudy: Which of the photographs that you have taken is you favorite?

Jared: I don't really have a favorite. I love all my pictures.
