The Delaware Zoological Society which was founded in 1979 works together with Delaware State Parks to support the Brandywine Zoo. It tries to promote an interest in wildlife in Delaware and solicits, collects, and provides money for improvements at the Zoo.
Membership in the Zoological Society is available to anyone who is interested. Members not only get to take advantage of all the Zoo's fascinating programs, but they get updates about the animals and activities in "ZooNews", they get guest passes and discounts on the the Zoo's educational programs, and they have reciprocal privileges with 100 other zoos.
Throughout the years the Delaware Zoological Society has helped the Zoo to expand and improve its exhibits. Its members have helped the Zoo to offer its visitors the chance to experience the wonder of wildlife.
