Li'l Traveling Zoo
ages 3-5 years
(30 -40 minute educational program)
Animals and Me
Young children learn about animals and animal life
by exploring with their senses. Touching, hearing, and seeing skills are
encouraged as children make observations about the animals and how they
compare to humans.
Survival in the Wild
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live
in the wild, to hunt or be hunted? It takes special skill, and every animal
has their own personal survival skills. Let our Traveling Zoo Naturalist
lead you on a special trip of survival in the wild. Through live animal
presentations, artifacts, and activities children will learn why animals
need their special " tools" (adaptations) to survive.
Lets Go to South America!
Take an imaginary trip to the exciting continent
of South America. Visit mountains, grasslands, and jungles as you meet
animals that live there. Children will discuss these habitats and how animals
have adapted to their environment.
Mysterious Mammals
What do gorillas, rabbits and YOU have in common?
All are mammals! Young children
will discover what makes a mammal a mammal through activities, discussion,
and live animals! Children will learn the seven basic characteristics that
all mammals share.
