How The Tiger Got Its Stripes

Have you ever wondered why the tiger has black stripes? Or why Santa never crashes his old crusty sleigh? It’s all because of tigers at the zoo.
On a fine night in December the zoo was having their annual winter festival. It was the party of the year at the zoo. It went by so fast that soon it was eleven o’clock, time for the tigers to go to bed. Zookeeper Bob lead the tigers into the large cage were all the tigers slept because Saint Nick was soon to be there. When all the tigers were snug in their beds they heard a loud crashing noise.
All the tigers ran outside to see what was going on. One yelled, “It’s Santa!” Quickly they all moved together. It seemed like they were forming a landing spot for him. Zookeeper Bob tried to move them out of the way but they wouldn’t budge. He didn’t know what to do.
As Santa came down with a lump and a bump he landed right on the tigers. Oh, no! Zookeeper Bob ran to the tigers to see if they were okay. Yes, the tigers were fine, but their fur was not. Now instead of having golden orange fur they had black stripes from head to toe. The runners on Santa's sleigh had marked them.
Zookeeper Bob was amazed to see that no other animal laughed or chuckled when they saw them. They realized these tigers had gotten their stripes from being brave. Soon every tiger in the world wore black stylish stripes.
