September 11th -The Attack on USA

On September 11, 2001, two planes crashed into the World Trade Center and one plane hit the Pentagon. Another plane crashed in Pennsylvania. When the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center people thought that it was a terrible accident. However, when the other three planes crashed, people knew that the crashes were planned. The United States knows that terrorists are responsible for the September 11th attack. Terrorist attacks are acts of violence against civilians. Terrorists try to kill as many people as possible. The September 11th attack was a random act of violence that killed thousands of innocent people who were going about doing the things they normally do.

The World Trade Center is also known as the Twin Towers.

Osama bin Laden is hiding

The United States strongly believe that Osama bin Laden and his group of terrorists are behind the attack because many clues lead up to them. Osama bin Laden has been responsible for several bombings including the truck bombing at the World Trade Center in 1993, the bombing of the two U.S. Embassies in Africa in in 1998, and the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000. While talking to a gruop of terrorists, Osama bin Laden said, "It is very important to concentrate on hitting the American economy with every available tool...the economy base of it's military power." He also said, "The United States is a great economy but at the same time it is fragile." Right now Osama bin Laden and other terrorists are are hiding in Afghanistan's caves. He is being protected by the Afghanistan's Taliban rulers. The U.S. is presently fighting the terrorists in Afghanistan.
