Sons and Daughters of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and 100th Battalion

Sons and Daughters Organization of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and 100th Battalion was formed in 1993 because they felt strongly about their father's actions in World War II, that they wanted to keep the memories alive of all the men who sacrificed themselves for America's freedom.

One of their main activities is an oral history project in which Veterans are interviewed about their war time experiences. An archives was created to keep these oral histories and some of the medals earned by the soldiers, weapons (of the Japanese and German soldiers), helmets, uniforms and many pictures of when they were in training and in combat.

The archives provide much information and support to students and others doing research on the 442nd RCT. Other activities that the sons and daughters are involved in are; helping the Veterans plan and organize the annual reunions, setting up displays for various events, educational workshops, and providing manpower to assist the Veterans as needed.
