Helping the Innocent

Since September the United States of America has been mourning over the events that occurred on the 11th day of that month. It was not enough that we suffered an enormous loss of lives. The destruction of buildings, the interruption of business, and communication has had a rippling effects on all of us. Simple things we took for granted before that tragic day, now have become a continual nightmare for all of us.

Just going to the airport is no longer a matter of fact task. People have to be aware of longer lines, longer waits, and even what they wear or bring onto the plane. Just the simple task of mailing a letter or bill, you have to consider all the delays and mail them ahead of time.

Our lives have definitely changed since that day, but did you ever consider the people of Afghanistan before that day? Did we ever stop to consider that many of them not involved in the attack, had to deal with tragedy everyday. Innocent children going unfed, children who only because they were female were not entitled to go to school. Adult women were not allowed to get a job or earn money, or even leave the house without a veil to cover their faces.

Sick babies with mother...

There are so many innocent victims whose injustice occurred long before September 11th. Being able to worship freely, the ability to receive medical assistance when they are sick or injured and having the right to an education are all the things we take for granted, yet these rights were not given to the Afghanistan people.

Medical assistance is now being given to the Afghanistan people by the United States Military with the assistance of other countries. From the air, supplies are dropped on specific targets out of the war zone area's, so that people on the ground can get supplies they desperately need. Items and staples such as crackers, pop tarts, bread, dried fruit, and dry soup mix all things that will not perish are being given to the Afghanistan people.

Medicine given to Afghanistan people...

Medical supplies such as vaccines, vitamins, ointments and bandages are also air lifted in and released in specified area's to give assistance to the people who are trapped in or around war zones. They also send viles of serum, hypodermic needles and other necessary supplies to victims trapped in this ongoing war.

The events of September 11th were tragic for the people of the United States, the people of Afghanistan have been suffering daily tragedies long before then. We must not blame the innocent victims of Afghanistan for the devastation caused in the United States. We must remember that they too are victims. Rather help those in need to bring the end of all poverty, loss of life, and finally the end of all war.
