Alzheimers disease was first described by a German neurologist Alois Alzheimer. This is what he said, "Alzheimers disease is a physical disease affecting the brain, During the course of the disease ‘plauges' and ‘tangles' develop in the structure of the brain, leading to the death of brain cells".

Are there any cures for Alzheimers disease? A lot of people wonder that same question. Well actually there is a plant that they think will cure the disease called the ginkgo biloba. The plant tastes like almonds but smells like rancid butter. Scientists don't know if it is a cure for Alzheimers disease or not, but they are investigating it and many other treatments as well.
