Florida-Immigration and Settlement Factors

Here is a brief history of Florida.

Brief History of Florida
One of Florida's first human inhabitants was the Native Americans. They lived in peace with the environment and the surrounding native people.

This changed due to the 1513 landing of Juan Ponce De Leon. Many years later, in 1565 Spanish colonists established settlements. In 1763 the british conquered the spaniards, dividing Florida into East Florida and West Florida. But after the American Revolution, Britain returned Florida to Spain in 1784. After Andrew Jackson invaded Florida in 1817, Spain agreed in 1819 to cede Florida to the United States. Three Years later, Florida was organized as a US territory. Twenty-Three years later, in 1845, Florida entered the union as the 27th State. Many years later, in the 1880's, the tourist industry began growing. And it didn't stop there. It grew and grew. Then, almost 100 years later Walt Disney brought his brilliant ideas to Florida. And eventually the Florida then became the Florida we know today.
