Early Geographical Factors

Learn about how geographical factors impacted different places.

Ancient Egypt
The historical civilization, Ancient Egypt, had geographical factors influencing its location. Egypt was in the desert, which has practically no water. So they built their civilization near the Nile River so they could have water and could grow crops much more easily. The river also served as a good transportation system.

The Vikings
The vikings were another civilization influenced by early geographic things. They lived on land near the ocean which meant that their main transportation was by boat. This meant that they were skilled sailors and could go raid other people who lived near the ocean.
