Environmental Consequences

Learn about some of the enviromental consequences of doing certain things.

Environmental Consequences
People all over the world, every day, change the environment. Most things they do have some environmental consequences.

Some Bad Consequences
Cutting down trees gives the world less oxygen if the same amount you cut down isn't somewhere in the world replanted. If you hunt animals, less of that animal is in the world, and you might be contributing to making that animal extinct. If you dump a whole bunch of illegal toxins in a lake it has a terrible consequence by killing fish, microrganisms, and other lake life. Also, even though it is not an environmental consequence, if you get caught you get sent to jail.

Good Consequences
There are some things you do that provide good consequences, too. Like when you plant a garden you are helping the environment by adding more oxygen to the world and also are just making it prettier. Also when you put up a bird feeder with food in the winter you are helping starving birds get food. Or when people help animals that fell out of a tree or got hurt in some way they are contributing to helping more animals be alive on our planet. Basically, most things we do on the planet Earth have some environmental consequence.
