Multiple Forces

Many forces blow your mind.

Force
First off, a student needs to know what a force is. It really is quite simple. A force can be invisible of seen. It makes thing happen. an example of that is your parents can tell you to do something so it is forcing you to do something. Another force can be the wind. Even thought you cannot see it, it is still pushing everything in it's path.

Magnitude
They also need to know how magnitude works. Magnitude is the size or greatness of something. Maybe an earthquake. The magnitude of it is measured on a richter scale.

Sunshine State Standards 6-8

Science/Force and Motion

Standard 2: The student understands that the types of force that act on an object and the effect of that force can be described, measured and predicted (SC.C.2.3).

Objective 3: Knows that if more than one force acts on an object, then the forces can reinforce or cancel each other depending on direction and magnitude.

Amusement Park Activity

Water, Water, Everywhere - When you go to an amusement park, look at a flume ride and figure out if the wind helps the water go over the boat or bring the water away.
