Albert Einstein made a mathematical equation which is E = MC2. In this equation E= Energy M= Mass C= the speed of light the 2 means C times C.The E=MC2 equation was
used to make the atom bomb.

Matter into Energy
Matter can change into energy but energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be changed. When an atom's nucleus is split it lets out a tremendous amount of energy. The energy that is unleashed is heat and light, but if it is let out slowly in can be harnessed to create electricity.

Fusion
Fusion is another form of nuclear energy. When smaller nuclei form a larger nucleus it is called Fusion. The sun uses nuclear fusion of hydrogen atoms into helium atoms. Heat, light and other radiation are given off this.

Atom
An atom can have a chain reaction that lets off heat energy and that energy can be used to boil water. The boiled water can be used at the concession stands to cook food, like rice, potatoes, hot dogs, vegetables, and pasta.

Standard 1: The student recognizes that energy may be changed in form with varying efficiency(SC.B.1.3).

Objective 2: Knows that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but only changed from one form to another.

Amusement Park Activity

I'm an Einstein- When you go to a theme park ride a roller coaster or some kind of ride. Then ask how much the cars weigh then when you get home square the speed of light, then multiply it by the weight of the cars to see how much energy the ride has.
