Concrete and Symbolic Representation

In these few pages we represent very useful information, which you think is probably boring, but we put amusement parks into it so it will be very fun!

Explanation
This means that you have to understand numbers in graph and mathematical problems.

Rational Numbers
A rational is a number capable of being expressed as an integer or a quotient of integers, excluding zero as a denominator. A rational number is really a repeated decimal. Like repeated decimals, roller coasters also repeat the same way decimals do. Because when the track ona roller coaster starts it most of the time always goes back around to the beginning again so that means the tracks just keep repeating and repeating.

Irrational Numbers
A irrational number is any real number that cannot be expressed as a ratio between two integers. Pi is an example of an irrational number. For example 1/4 is an irrational number.

Sunshine State Standards 6-8

Mathematics/Number Sense, Concepts and Operations

Standard 1: The student understands the different ways numbers are represented and used in the real world (MA.A.1.3).

Objective 3: Understands concrete and symbolic representations of rational numbers and irrational numbers in real-world situations.

Amusement Park Activity

Technology Fun - Go to an amusement park and try to find out as many rides as you can that involve technology.

Did you know?

"Kiddie-coasters" became largely popular in the fifties, as parents with rising incomes and growing families looked for new things to do with their children. These coasters featured simple basic layouts.
