The Aurelian Wall was built beginning in
271 A. D. around Rome. It was completed under Probus in 280 A. D. The walls are more than
12 miles long and 60 feet tall. The wall was built of brick-faced concrete. Every fifteen
yards a tower was built. Emperior Maxentius in 306-312 A. D. doubled the height of the
wall.
