Amenhotep was a stable and properous ruler. He is best known for the large number of buildings he constructed. He began his rule at the young age of 12. Amenhotep had many wives. During his reign trade was strong.

One of Amenhotep III's greatest achievements was the Temple of Amun. The temple shows Amenhotep's birth from the god Amun. Amenhotep died at the age of 50. His tomb was built in the Valley of the Kings. His mummy was recovered in the Royal cache that was found in the tomb of Amenhotep II.

Memnon

The Colossi of Memnon are all that remains of the burial temple of Amenhotep III which was largest of all the west bank of the Nile in Thebes.
