Mary Anderson
Mary Anderson invented the
wind shield wiper in 1903.This invention cleared away rain from the wind
shield. She noticed the need for wind shield wipers when she was taking a
streetcar tour and the driver had to constantly wipe rain off the wind shield.
Many people teased her for her invention but that did not discourage her. She
received a patent in 1905.
