It was time to start a new civilization. What if something horrible happened to our planet Earth? What if Earth was destroyed by pollution? That's why I began a colony on earth’s neighbor, Mars. There are some slight problems with living on Mars though. But, we are thankful we can fix them.

When we were exploring to see if Mars was a suitable planet to live on, we found that this planet has millions of winter plants, that we call winants. The atmosphere of Mars is mostly made up of carbon dioxide. The great thing is that winants need carbon dioxide to live, and will give us the oxygen that we need to breath in return.

The average temperature is -63 degrees celsius, -81 degrees Fahrenheit. Since it is extremely cold on Mars, we have invented a machine that takes in cold air and produces warm air that equals to about 60 degrees Celsius. We call this handy machine the Warmometer.

On Mars, winds up to 500 kilometers per hour raise giant dust storms. When great winds come like these, a siren goes off to warn people. By remote control an enormous screen comes up out of the surface that slows the winds and filters the dust from the air. This screen is called the Wind Slower, Dust Cleaner Outer.

In case of emergency, we built some rooms in the extinct volcano, Olympus Mons. It is three times as tall as Mount Everest. Here the people are safe from danger and they can rest.

Mars terrain has ridges, valleys, mountains, canyons, volcanoes, and riverbeds. Mars also has polar caps. Many people have so much fun skiing on Mars’ slopes and exploring all of its geographical features.

There is one more resource that we need to have while on Mars. We need water to drink, so we melt the ice caps by the Warmometer. We have to be very careful while doing this because we wouldn’t want to cause a flood.

Life is great on Mars. We have everything under control, and our inventions are great. Mars is like another Earth. I encourage all of you to come visit this magnificent planet! Hope to see you soon!
