Since the 1900's wild game, big and small, was brought in: deer, does, mouflons and hares. There are 1100 fallow deer (Dama dama), Fallow deer (Dama dama)30 axis deer (Axis axis), 110 mouflons (Ovis musimon).

Safari Park was formed in 1978 in the northren part of the Great Brion (Veliki Brijun). There you can find some of the most exotic animals such as elephants, antelopes, gazelles, Somalian sheep, ibex, camels, llamas, zebras, etc. On the pheasant farm pheasants, partridges, quails, different breeds of parrots, cranes, black swans and flamingos are bred. Pheasants and peacocks roam freely round the island.

Some of the smaller islands are nesting places for seagulls and sea-swallows (Laridae), pigeons (Columbidae). Brijuni are an important seasonal habitat of the nothern birds; the most interesting one is that of the swamp or marsh birds in Saline on the Great Brion (Veliki Brijun).
