Durban's Transport has been in operation for 103
years.

They had the first electric trams installed in 1902
and 2 months later the first tram accident occurred. "The tram was traveling
along 1st Avenue when a horse drawn cart got a fright and dashed in front
of the tram the horse was killed instantly but the driver escaped with only a
few bruises."
One of the strangest thing that Durban Transport
decided to do was to introduce the funeral tram, this was the first of its kind
in the world. These two trams were painted in somber colors, one for the
Europeans and another for non-whites. The tram for the Europeans proved to be a
