1961 Electronic Digital Computers_The First Computer Game In 1961, a student at MIT named Steve Russell created Spacewar, the first computer video game. It was written for the DEC PDP-1 and soon spread acroos the country. Nolan Bushnell did a commercial version of the game, Computer Space, but it didn't sell well. Using what he'd learned, he developed Pong led to Breakout and then to PacMan, and the succession continues. |
