For example we want to calculate force between two parallel conductors that lead the current of lightning strike to the ground. Calculation needs to be done twice with two different distances between conductors.

- lightning current: ig = 100 kA,
- distance between conductors: a = 10 cm and a = 2 cm

Solution:

We can see that in the both cases force, which effects the conductors, has large value. For example if we want to drain 100 kA lightning current with two metal bands on the distance of 10 cm and length of 5 m then the force will be 100000 N. That force is approximately equal to weight of a car. In case that the bands are not properly fastened they could be deformed or even broken.
