The Process

The Idea: The idea of creating a web site about movies came when one of the team members visited Universal Studios. By creating a web site about one of the most popular industries in the world, we thought it would be interesting to mix fun with education. Since movies--no matter what language they are--have a universal appeal, we believed that it would be a great idea to share with the people around the world about the making of movies.

The Planning and Developing: The most important part of the project was trying deciding on the look of the web site, its contents, as well as providing entertainment for the users. Although all of us contributed to each part, we also assigned each other parts of the web site. Irene Wang, the artist of the team decided on the visual appeal of the web site. Nan Zhu researched and wrote the information. Yifei Zhu then provided the entertainment and interactive parts of the web site.

Difficulties Encountered: Time differences was the greatest difficulty in the development of the web site. During the making of the web site, Nan was in the U.S., Yifei was in China, and Irene was taking a trip in Japan. All team members had to sacrifice a great deal of sleep and summer break time to complete the project.

The Learning Experience: There's a famous saying that says: "The important part is not winning--it is participating." For us, the best part about creating this web site was the learning experience. Not only did we learn about movies, creating web sites, and self-discipline, but we also became great friends. Thank you Thinkquest for bringing us together!
