William Shakespeare (1564-1616)

The infamous playwright and poet known as William Shakespeare has influenced literature like no one else have ever. In fact, some of his quotes are so well known that they have become part of the English language.

Shakespeare wrote many plays, of which 37 are known today. His deep and involving works are known worldwide as some of the greatest works of literature ever. Today, schools throughout the world study his intriguing plays for appreciation of literature.

His timeless plays are still published all over the world today. Still popular with people of all ages, some of his more famous plays like "Romeo & Juliet", "Hamlet", "Macbeth" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" have been performed in theatres countless amounts of time and have also spawned cinema movies as well in recent times.

Shakespeare was also well known for his love poems in sonnet form. He wrote 184 of such poems, beautifully displaying his great skill in language, creativity and wisdom.

In his death, Shakespeare has left behind a legacy of plays and poem that no one person can rival today. His works have endured many centuries and show no sign of fading away anytime soon.
