Seki had anticipated many of the discoveries in Western Mathematics. He was the first person to study determinants, formulating a complex equation to solve them before anyone else. He also discovered Bernoulli numbers and solved a cubic algebraic equation before anyone else did. However, since relatively few people paid any attention mathematics during his time (apart from the scholars) his theories faded away after his death.

Seki Kowa had made various other important contributions to the advancement of mathematics by the time he died in 1708. One of Seki Kowa's most amazing feats was that he was able to obtain rectification of the circle correct to the 18th decimal.

Thankfully, today we know about the genius that is Seki Kowa.
