Isaac Newton (1642-1727 )

Isaac Newton It is probably safe to say that Isaac Newton has contributed more to the advancement of mathematics and physics than any other single person in history. Isaac Newton is solely responsible for answering many question people had been asking for hundreds of years.

Born into a poor farming family. Isaac Newton wasn't really good at farming so he was sent to Cambridge to study. It was during the time that Newton left school, that he made many important discoveries on the nature of motion.

Having great insights on the nature of matter and motion but never willing to publish any of his work, Newton often told his friend Halley that he lost his research information. However, Halley managed to persuade Newton into publishing his work. Thus Newton worked from 1684 to 1686 to create one of the greatest works of physics of all time, now commonly known as Principia Mathematica.
