Thomas Edison (1847-1931)
One of the most famous inventors of all time, Thomas Edison patented over 1000 inventions during his time, many of which are used today or created the basis for modern day inventions.
Edison's most famous invention was the first electric bulb. During his time, electricity had not been developed yet. Today electric lighting is taken for granted, however, if not for this man, we might still be using candles!
Edison's many inventions which, included the light bulb, movie projector, phonograph and electric motor were a true sign of his genius. However, Edison did attribute his inventions to his creativity or talent but rather his hard work and sheer determination.
