Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519)

An artist well known for his works "The Last Supper" and "The Mona Lisa", Leonardo Da Vinci was also an innovative scientist, engineer and writer who was well ahead of his time.

Leonardo had great insight as a mechanical engineer. For although the various craftsman during his time could build and repair existing kinds of machines, creating new machines never crossed their minds. Leonardo on the other hand believed that by understanding individual parts of a machine, he could alter or combine them to improve and invent entirely new machines.

With his great artistic skills, Leonardo sketched his ideas of various mysterious gadgets including flying machines and artillery designs.

During the Renaissance, Leonardo trained as an artist and became a true master of his craft. With his amazing observation skills, artistic talent and scientific approach on all things, Leonardo Da Vinci was able to imbue a special liveliness to his art pieces besting the many other Renaissance artists.

This special man was able to excel in and master so many fields of science and art. Even today, no one can compare to the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci.
