The Theropoda suborder includes all of the small-,

medium- and large-sized meat-eating dinosaurs. There are five main groups:

 

- COELUROSAURS (small- and medium-sized, lightly built)

- ORNITHOMIMOSAURS (very slender, ostrichlike)

- DEINONYCHOSAURS (lightly built, large fierce claws)

- SEGNOSAURS (with an unusual hip) and

- CARNOSAURS (all the heavy medium and large forms)
