Coelurosauria includes a variety of small and medium-sized meat-eating
dinosaurs. Most of them ran upright on their hind legs. There are
two main groups which can be told apart mainly by the shape of
the head and the hands. Coelophysids (late Tiassic) had large
wedge-shaped heads and three or four claes on their hands. The
coelurids (late Jurassic) had small low heads and always three
claws on their hands. The coelurids (late Jurassic) had small low
