The Suborder Ankylosauria is known only from rare fossils in Jurassic rocks. However, a great variety of ankylosaurus occurred in the Cretaceous, and especially later on. They were all plant-eaters, and they had an armor of spines, knobs, and spikes on their backs. There were two groups of ankylosaurus, some with narrow heads and heavy clubs at the ends of their tails
