Although the Lovers can be considered a separate character genre with several different chararcters, there is very little difference between one lover and another save the name.Lovers are the sons and daughters of the masters and are usually rich. Because of that, they act rich as well. The motivations of a lover is not so much being in love with anyone particular, but more being in love with love. Lovers tend to go off about they’re Lovers with the most inane metaphors possible. “ Your voice is like the serene Chirping of cricket legs in the dead of night” for instance. One essential part of the Lovers is that in spite of their passion, they are complete prudes. To even touch another lover would make them faint.Lovers are really fun to play because of the way move. Their over-the-top emotions make them very airy. They keep all their weight up on their torso with their feet rushing frantically underneath to keep them on balance. When a lover sees something it loves, the head and chest lean over to it first nearly tipping the body while the feet rush underneath to get under the body and stay on tip-toe.The lovers also use face paint instead of a mask. Their face paint is less overdone than Colombina’s to let the audience know the lovers’ inhibition of sex.Although Lovers are extremely love happy, they can also immediately dart into depression. Their obsession with emotion makes them insensitive to the other characters they are not in love with. Although at the end, the lovers may have ended up with each other they haven’t actually changed at all. |
