PREGNANCY Have you ever wondered why the teen pregnancy rate is so high? I have and I believe it is due to a couple of factors. The first is that parents are not talking to their children about sex like they should be. Reading quotes out of those sex ed brochures is not enough. Parents need to teach their children that love does not always mean sex. They should tell their children about the risks of sex not only about STD's and pregnancy but also about the emotional hardships that can evolve from a sexual relationship. Most importantly, parents should stress the importance of ABSTINENCE!! Being a parent requires much mental stability. Teenage parents face much more problems than their old parents because they are not emotionally strong. They have too many weaknesses in such a way they can not even deal with hardships of having children. These days falling pregnant is a symbol of having unprotected sex and chances of being negative from having AIDS or the virus itself are slim. If it happened sometime you had fallen pregnant, abortion might be no longer an option but to live up to what happened, it is a matter of accepting and at that stage try to avoid negative thinking and abusing substance.
THESE ARE POSITIVE THINGS A TEEN PARENT SHOULD DO -Surround Yourself In Unconditional Love and Suppport. - If You Are In School Stay There. -Always Make Time For Your Child. -Learn How To Reduce Your Stress Level. -Be Open minded To Experienced Parents' Advice. -Do The Best You Can. -Be Prepared For Stereotypes and Negative Responses. |
