Beliefs Teenagers tend to make their own beliefs in terms of what they do, who they hang around with. They judge their peers by that. That simply means if you don't hang around with pot-heads, don't drink or don't sleep around you are a fool. Well because teens can stand being abandoned, they get in what they get into just to belong somewhere. These are nothing but artificial beliefs. They suffer under those because they strongly believe in them. The most common reasons for students to drink alcohol were "it was a nice way to celebrate special occasions" or "it made it easier to talk to people." The students also drank to enhance their social behaviors ("I tend to drink when my friends are drinking; I doubt I will get caught driving drunk"). Students also knew about the negative affects of alcohol. "Drinking alcohol can result in negative changes in my personality and can make me irritable." Other concerns were that alcohol interfered with a healthy lifestyle and those who drank were considered "cool" by their peers. Real beliefs at least go hand in hand with religion. Consciousness of who you are. Your values and dignity. It doesn't matter which religion you embrace but you have to know it and be strong into it. Click here for some religious links.
