TRASH WATCHERS IN SPACE

Thankfully, the people at NASA have recently launched a satellite, specifically for keeping an eye on the amount of space pollution orbiting the earth. The satellite, named Argos: advanced research and global observation satellite, is equipped with various experiments and tools for monitoring activity in space. Scientists have called it a swiss army knife in space andone of the tools that it carries is Spadus, a space dust monitor created by the University of Chicago.

The satellite is going to be monitoring the ever growing cloud of debris, the result of 40 years in space. The satellite is eqipped to be able to differentiate between natural pieces of debris which attack the earth all year round and the man made debris, including spanners, paint specks and bolts etc.
