Robert F. Kennedy

Senator Robert Francis Kennedy (1925-1968), former U.S. Attorney General and younger brother of President John F. Kennedy, was seeking the Democratic party's nomination in 1968. An advocate of civil rights, many African Americans hoped that he would become the new President of the United States. Sadly, he was assassinated by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan that same year.
