Welcome to "The Civil Rights Movement" web site! This site was created for
ThinkQuest
by three high school students to promote awareness of the Civil Rights Movement that
took place in the United States. The focus of the Movement was to secure equal rights
for all, regardless of skin color. We have carefully researched and put together collections
of articles and multimedia to enhance your learning of this historic event.
There are a total of six sections in this site: Home, Relive the Movement, Interact, Virtual Museum,
About, and Help. You can access these by clicking on the names of the sections on the red bar above.
On the left side of each page, you will see the features of that particular section. Click on them to
view the information and multimedia that we have amassed. To get the most out of your viewing
experience, it is recommended that you have the latest version of your browser and Macromedia Flash.
An Explanation of the Sections
Home
You are currently in the Home section of the site. Here, you can connect to
the other sections of the site.
Relive the Movement
This section of the site contains the actual research articles that Team C0126872
has put together. The titles of each article are presented along the left side of
the screen. For the most part, articles are in chronological order. Pictures have also
been included with a number of articles.
Interact
Become a part of the site! At Interact you can play a card game in Flash, take some
quizzes to test your knowledge, post in the forum, sign our guestbook, and vote in the
poll. More features will be added as the site continues to develop and grow. Be sure to
check back frequently!
Virtual Museum
The Virtual Museum is exactly what it is had been named. Read and view our collections
of quotes and thoughts from students and adults just like you! The Their Voices section
contains pieces contributed by others. This collection will continue to grow as well. The
photo gallery features photos and images that pertain to the Civil Rights Movement. Missed
the Flash intro the first time around? You can view it here! Enjoy!
