Qing Emperor Kangxi (Aixinjueluo Xuanye)

    Emperor Kangxi is Emperor Shunzhi's third son. He was born in 11th year of Emperor Shunzhi's reign (1654 AD), died in 61st year of his reign (1722 AD).

He succeeded imperial throne at age of 8. Because he was too young, his father appointed 4 ministers to help him to administrate the country when he was young. One of the 4 ministers named Aobai. He was a go-getting man, and killed a lot of officers who dared to go against him. He didn't surrender power of administrating the country when the emperor was old enough to rule the nation. Emperor Kangxi caught Aobai with his cleverness. We can learn that Emperor Kangxi is a smart and capable emperor through his action of catching Aobai.

Emperor Kangxi aroused his all efforts to make the country prosperous. People's lives were greatly improved during his reign. In Chinese history, the period lasted more than 100 years which was from Emperor Kangxi's reign to Emperor Qianlong's reign was called "Kang Qian Zhi Zhi¡± (the good ruling from Emperor Kangxi's reign to Emperor Qianlong's reign), and this is the last most prosperous period in ancient China.
