Qing Emperor Jiaqing (Aixinjueluo Yuyan)

Emperor Jiaqing is Emperor's fifteenth son. He was born in 25th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1760 AD), and died in 25th year of his reign (1820 AD).

When Emperor Qianlong carried out his promise to abdicate, he chose his son Yuyan (Emperor Jiaqing) to become the new emperor. Actually, he was still ruling the country behind the scene. A lot of important affairs was reported to him, and was solved by him.

Emperor Qianlong died in 4th of Emperor Jiaqing's reign. Emperor Jiaqing began to rule the country himself. During his early reign, he killed treacherous court official Heshen. His action afforded general satisfaction.

His father Emperor Qianlong was an accomplished emperor who made Qing Dynasty very prosperous. Emperor Jiaqing hoped that the prosperity during his father's reign would continue, so he imitated his father in ruling the country, but he had less outstanding achievement. Qing Dynasty declined during his reign.

&During his reign, the rebellious peasants attacked the Forbidden City. Though it was beat down soon, we can see that there was a lot of abuses with Qing Dynasty.
