Ming Emperor Chenghua (Zhu Jianshen)
Emperor Chenghua was Emperor Zhengtong's eldest son. He was born in 12th year of Emperor Zhengtong's reign (1447 AD), died in 23rd year of his reign.
He was a fatuous emperor. He doted on imperial concubine Wan who was 19 years older than him. Wan had no child, and she didn't want other imperial concubines to have children - that would make her out of favor with the emperor. But at last a lady-in-waiting had a child with Emperor Chenghua. Eunuch Zhang Min hid the child. Had Wan knew the child, she would have killed the child. Finally, the child grew up, and became Emperor Hongzhi later.
