Welcome to WSAT
Welcome to Web Standards and Technologies, a site that aims to encourage the use of standard web technologies such as XHTML and CSS by emphasizing the benefits of increased content accessibility and the reduction of browser-specific coding. We hope that you will enjoy your stay here, and in turn invite you to visit again if you find us useful. For your convenience, this site is divided into three sections as described below:
- Introduction - a general overview of the philosophy behind these technologies
- Tutorials - lessons to get you started with using web standards for development
- Reference - a quick reference for all the tags and identifiers in XHTML and CSS
Through this page, we hope to demonstrate that creating standards-compliant code in not at all difficult, and that the results, if done with appropriate artistic design, can be aesthetically stunning as well. Select a section to start learning about Web Standards and Technologies right away!
Standards Compliance
As a demonstration of what can be achieved through standards compliance, this page itself has been validated to be XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS Level 2 compliant. Older browsers, however, may have presentational problems when viewing this page due to their poor standards support. As such, we recommend you to upgrade your browser and keep up-to-date with the latest web technologies. If for any reason, however, you do not wish to upgrade your browser, the contents of this page should still be accessible despite incorrect presentation. Nevertheless, if you do encounter any accessibility problems using an older browser, please contact us so that we may solve the problem.
