Dear Journal,
     Shin Ru almost most died today. It was because of a great sound and force that happened in the mixing room. The horrible ingredients that had ignited were sulfur, saltpeter, and charcoal. I was shocked and awed at the same time by the event. This was not an ordinary fire or wind. It was sudden and deadly. Soon after, a messenger stopped by to convey news that a similar explosion had killed a group of alchemists in a nearby village and demolished the building they were in. Shin Ru is a lucky man. What evil has been unleashed?
